The tragedy of Homs continues
Here comes another month and the city of Homs is still suffering from the barbaric shelling and destruction. It is the beginning of the 3rd month of a military campaign that targeted all the neighborhoods in the city of Homs and some parts of its rural area. The campaign led to a humanitarian situation that has made most of the city uninhabitable, where medical supplies and food are scarce. Due to the high distribution of snipers, the city has turned into a ghost town where nobody can move, and all of the Old Districts of Homs are empty of their residents who were forced to flee their homes due to the shelling and the horrific massacres, which were committed by the Assad regime.


The Old Districts of Homs, Khaldiyeh, Bayada, Wadi al-Arab and Bab Tadmur are still getting shelled with different types of weapons and artillery. Today, there was a massacre in Bayada that led to killing many civilians, including children and injuring many others.
Assad militias are still targeting mosques and churches, which has completely destroyed one mosque's minaret and completely destroyed another mosque.
There are also a lot of damages in the historical souk (market) area because Assad forces bombed it with mortars and other types of bombs.
There is a curfew imposed in each of Qusoor, Joret al-Shayah, Dablan and Karm al-Shami due to the heavy distribution of snipers there, which also was the cause of injuring many civilians.

Rural Homs
Qusayr: the city and the surrounding villages are under heavy shelling for a week now, which resulted in the destruction of houses and mosques, in addition to injuring and killing many civilians. All of this is accompanied by the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the scarcity of medical supplies.
Rastan: the daily shelling continued and several civilians were injured.
Talkalakh: the city is still suffering a suffocating siege by the Assad army, security forces and Shabiha. The city is divided into parts due the security checkpoints and the snipers, who are paralyzing the movement of the civilians in the city and leaving them in need for all the basic means for life like food and medicine. All of this is happening while people are under the threat of an invasion, especially the residents of Krak des Chevaliers town and al-Zara village, the majority of the residents of both of which have evacuated their towns.
